#5: OpenFold3 for Biological Structure Prediction

Date and Time

Date: Thursday, September 10th, 2026

Time: 15:00-16:00 (GMT+8)

Location: Online @ Zoom Webinar

Event Details

Join AI4Life for a technical webinar exploring OpenFold3, an open-source foundation framework for biomolecular structure prediction developed by the OpenFold Consortium. The session will discuss the evolving role of open foundation models in structural biology, how OpenFold3 approaches multi-molecular structure inference, and how researchers can leverage high-throughput structure predictions across drug discovery and computational R&D workflows.

This webinar will be hosted by Quynh Nguyen, Director of Ecosystem Development of NYB.AI, the team behind Vecura. The format includes topic framing, a 20–25 minute technical presentation, a live Vecura workspace demonstration, followed by an interactive live Q&A session.

Speaker Information

Featured speaker: Jennifer Wei, Ph.D.**** (Dr.), Technical Lead for OpenFold 3 at OpenFold Consortium.

Dr. Jennifer Wei is a software engineer who is an expert in applying machine learning workflows to chemistry and biology problems. She earned her PhD in Chemical Physics from Harvard University, where she was supervised by Prof. Alán Aspuru-Guzik. For the past 3 years, she has worked with the OpenFold Consortium on OpenFold3 as technical lead.

What you will learn

  • The architectural evolution and open-science impact of OpenFold3 in biomolecular structure prediction

  • Key technical insights into model inference capabilities, input preparation, and MSA data pipelines

  • Practical strategies for integrating OpenFold3 structure predictions into downstream drug discovery workflows

  • A live demonstration of executing OpenFold3 natively in no-code workflows on Vecura Workspace
